Adventure Calls – Spelleasy

They banned the magic. But they couldn't ban the people who live by it.

We created the key art and character lineups for Adventure Calls' Spelleasy. A universe where magic is real but prohibited. Spellcasting and artifacts went underground, into hidden clubs called spelleasies.

We leaned into the contrast that defines the setting: warm interior light against the cold blue of the night, Art Deco elegance against muzzle flashes and screeching tires. The chase scene in the key art carries the chaos of a city running on illegal magic. The character lineups slow the action down into stylized portraits.
