For this piece, we also produced a custom set of photo references to support a more in-depth study of color, lighting, and accurate anatomy.

You know how splash art often features impossible, inhuman poses? We wanted to avoid that — so we shot knights in dynamic action poses, then processed the material for composition, lighting, and overall battle mood. Do you use photo references for your commercial works?
